Review & Interview CENTRA 2002 Salem - Collective Demise New Album CD 2002 REVIEW KMG Music Germany presented the long lasting Salem, they're hailing from Israel! perhaps you never realised that there is a small but fine scene for extreme music in Israeli metal scene, cause this band were formed in 1985! played melodic death metal in the vein of Swedish death metal bands but Salem was really different than other, they has own style with full of variety and unusual sounds reaching from using Afro- Cuban percussion over Arabic Darbuka also Sitar! frighten raw grim hoarse male vocals mixture female vocals that didn't sound wimpy to the most sophisticated 2nd guitar harmonies, the male vocals remind me to Necrodeath, Sadus also Invocator but the music blended between death with a bit of modern grinding touches!
