SALEM - Collective Demise

CD REVIEW

If I am not mistaken this is the fourth album from this band from Israel.
Their music can be described as a mix of death and thrash metal, with aggressive vocals and some nice and interesting touches like the female vocals.
They certainly spice up the music, since while the lady sings in the background the music is as brutal and intense as in the rest of the album.
No phony atmospheric passages or stuff.
I think that one of the things they need to improve is the male vocals which are semi brutal, but not in the right style.
The music is not bad and I liked the Slayerish passages and influences.
They might not be perfect but they have the talent required and their album has a lot of interesting ideas that are well explored.
The musicianship is above average and the production not bad at all.
If you are into death metal check them out.
